Hang those frames!

Hanging frames is not as easy as it looks.
We need to think of a theme and style before hanging everything.
So I’m giving you ideas on how to hang those works of art.
The ever so popular frame gallery or gallery wall these days is actually called Salon Hang.

How to do it?

When you have decided a theme for the frame gallery, you need to choose pieces with different sizes, large and medium frames should act as an anchor for the montage, placing them in the center. Place the other pieces aligned each other, around the large ones making sure that the spacing are consistent to each pieces to create orderly aesthetics.

Another way to hang it is by Mosaic Hang

It can easily be mistaken as Salon hang since it also uses different sizes of frames, but notice that the frames are aligned within an invisible perimeter or edge.

For that sophisticated look with dramatic impact is what we call Series Hang.

Using frames or pieces with the same size and hanging them with equal spacing in between, lining them up creating a grid, will create that formal drama.

I have never seen this in actual but would like to try it out soon. The Paris Hang.

Different framed artwork again but this time you should hang it directly next to each other making a horizontal axis.

Frames aren't the only one that can be hang, you can also include busts, mirrors, clocks and a lot more,
this is called
Three Dimension Objects within a Hang.
Domino Magazine

this kind of hanging is seen on diners, but the concept can be adopted to create a sophisticated look.

Now, becoming one of my favorite is the Art in Bookshelves or Ledges

Kelly Hoppen

bookshelves need not to be boring with only books on it.
you can now add interest by placing frames along side your collection of books, it may be hanged or placed  on a small easel or just simply lean it against the wall.
you can also add more interest by placing nice sculptures and some greenery.

Not enough frames? There is this style called Asymmetrical hang

you can group 3 frames together and create a dialogue within the group.
Usually the two small pieces are stacked together while the large one in on the center of the two.

There are more wonderful ways to hang those pieces, visit this very informative site http://www.lostartsalon.com for more!
So what are you waiting for? :)
Try these ways and create the drama you’re after, to give art to an art.
Happy hanging!
